Zukertraube produces fabulously flavoured red cherry tomatoes. The name translated means ‘sugar grape’ and they are remarkably sweet with just a hint of acidity. Look forward to large trusses laden with fruit from this tall growing variety. Can be grown undercover or outside in sheltered areas. Indeterminate
Price for 12 seeds.
This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source
SOW: about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected sow 5mm deep in modules (cover or put on a windowsill). Transplant to pots when large enough to handle and grow on until ready to harden off and plant after frost danger has passed.
GROW: plant in the greenhouse or in a sunny sheltered part of your garden. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp: don’t overfeed. Being indeterminate Zukertraube can grow tall and will need supporting. It will bloom, set new fruit and ripen fruit all at the same time throughout the season. There is no need to pinch out the side shoots unless you prefer to do so.
EAT: perfect for munching on – ours rarely get as far as the salad bowl
