Sometimes two words will sum up a variety – simply scrumptious.
However Yellow Pear needs two more words – BLIGHT TOLERANT.
These are scrumptious small pear-shaped yellow toms, produced in clusters, they are a delicious and unusual addition to your salads. This yummy variety will take about 11 weeks from sowing to the first tasty fruits being ready to enjoy. Indeterminate.
Price for 12 seeds.
SOW: about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected sow in modules (cover or put on a windowsill). Transplant to pots when large enough to handle and grow on until ready to harden off and plant after frost danger has passed.
GROW: plant in the greenhouse or in a sunny sheltered part of your garden. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp & don’t overfeed. Yellow Pear, being indeterminate, can grow tall and will need supporting. It will bloom, set new fruit and ripen fruit all at the same time throughout the season. There is no need to pinch out the side shoots unless you prefer to do so.
ENJOY: lovely unusual tomatoes for salads or just snacking on.
