Beautiful Red Grenoble boasts varying shades of red, bronze, light and dark green. The flavour is excellent so it should not come as a surprise that this is an heirloom (Rouge de Grenoble). It is cold tolerant but seems to still do well in the summer (making a good choice for cooler areas). It can also be treated as a cut-&-come-again.
Price for 75 seeds.
SOW & GROW: a little seed, 5-10mm deep, every 2-3 weeks from February to October to give you a succession of lettuces. Red Grenoble is cold tolerant but seems to still do well in the summer (making a good choice for cooler areas). Direct sow in spring and early summer for cut-&-come-again. For heads you can start them in modules and transplant so that there is no need to thin: space 25-35cm apart. Late sowings may need protection from inclement weather.
EAT: enjoy the flavour on its own or try mixing with a range of other leaves such as Mizuna, Spinach and herbs
