APRIL SOWING GUIDE

APRIL SOWING GUIDE

April Sowing Guide

  • Remember to check your packets for more details & be prepared to protect during unpredictable weather!
  • Some vegetables will need to sown with protection: use cloches, a cold frame, a polytunnel or unheated greenhouses – you may well need fleece to cover on the cold nights for extra protection

Wait until later in April before starting Runner Beans, Courgettes, Cucumbers, Marrows, Sweet Corn and Tomatoes (none will be happy if caught by a late frost so keep them protected).

Some will need to be sown in the warmth – we don’t use propagators ourselves but we do sow indoors and fill up many of our windowsills!
