Tipika is a lovely variety with very upright leaves.  This is a vigorous growing continental type that can be harvested from as they begin to bulb or leave them longer to form pure white almost spherical bulbs.  Enjoy their delicious tang that increases over time.  They are suitable for spring and autumn sowings

Price for 100 seeds

SOW & GROW: during the spring and autumn in the open. The later sowings may be protected by cloches in the winter weather.  Tipika can tolerate cooler conditions making it ideal for more exposed and cooler locations or for more northerly gardeners in the summer.  Sow sparingly (no more than 1cm deep) to minimise thinning.  Sow every 2-3 weeks for a succession of salad onions.

EAT: pull as needed after you spot them beginning to bulb or leave them longer to form pure white almost spherical bulbs.  They are milder when young and can be added to salads and sandwiches.  Those left to grow on are perfect for stir fries and other cooked dishes.
