Douce Provence is a cross between Kelvedon Wonder and Meteor. It is round seeded and produces excellent crops. It can be sown November to February for a very early mouth watering crop. This is always one of our top sellers.

Price for 50 seeds

SOW: Douce Provence can be sown between October & November when it should need little protection; or sow December to February with protection.  Sowings from March to as late as July should not need protection!  Autumn and winter sowings are best started in pots.  Spring and summer sowings can be direct.

GROW: if pot sown, harden off before planting out at about 12cm apart each way.  Peas like moisture and will tolerate light shade.  You should only need to water in dry summers, not too much while they are young but a little more once they start to flower.  Pick regularly to encourage more growth.

EAT: autumn sowings are ready from about May otherwise allow 11-14 weeks.  Harvest when the pods are bright green; shell then cook, or you can cook the pods whole and then shell them!
