Guinevere – bright lavender-rose satiny flowers with a splash of white at the centre of each bloom. These will grow into stately beautiful plants for the back of your border. Attractive to bees and butterflies they can also be cut for a display. Flowering June to September, best in full sun, early sowings can flower in their first year. Height 150-200cm. SOW & GROW: early sowings in January or early February can flower in their first year otherwise in March to May. Use seed trays or pots and lightly cover seeds with compost or vermiculite. Keep at 15-18°C. They are quite quick at 2-3 weeks. Pot up and grow on. Early sowings can be planted out in the summer otherwise overwinter in a coldframe before planting next year (they will die back in the winter). They take 2-3 years to reach their full size and so should be spaced 50cm apart. Protect young plants from slugs and snails.
