It has the reputation of being one of the most delicious squashes available (we love it). This is a smaller fruited variety  with fruits weighing about 1.5kg. The firm sweet flesh is fantastic roasted, made into soup or in a pie. Price for 3 seeds

A lush tasty squash that almost looks too good to eat with a creamy skin and green stripes. It has an excellent flavour, ready in 11-12 weeks, and is rich in potassium and vitamins. Delicious tear-drop shaped fruit (with a lightly flattened bottom), green with pale yellow splashes and stripes with a rich gold flesh that is both smooth and sweet. SOW: late April to the end of May, start 1 seed per pot or module.  Keep moist but not waterlogged. Harden off & plant out in June in a sunny spot with lots of compost. 

GROW: let these scramble around, if you are growing other squashes and pumpkins the smaller leaves will show you where your Fairy has got to!  You can tie in and train up a trellis, fence or an obelisk so that the vines have somewhere to grow!  Use a planted plastic bottle so that you can direct water to their roots.   If storing ripen them outdoors (or in a greenhouse or sunny windowsill if the weather turns poor) for about 14 days after picking to harden the skin.  They can keep through to the new year.

EAT: fruits can be 1kg & the rich gold smooth, sweet flesh is exceptional baked, roasted or steamed, lovely in sweet or savoury recipes.  You can harden the skins for storing or you can dice the fruits as you harvest and freeze in portion sized amounts.

a lovely sweet taste from bright orange flesh covered by an unassuming tan colour skin. This is one of the first butternut squashes to be bred for the UK climate. It is mature and ready to harvest after 15 weeks.

In looks Jester is reminiscent of a Galia Melon with its creamy skin and green stripes but this is a fabulous Acorn squash.  It is the perfect size for a 2 person meal with a really delightful sweet nutty flavour.  It does vine and can produce 5-7 squashes per plant.  A great choice.  Price for 3 seeds

This is a must try, how can you resist a name like this combined with yellow-orange firm flesh (that is not stringy) hidden under the pink skin. Its sweet flavour makes it an excellent choice for pies and baking. Each fruit can grow to 50cm or more in good conditions. Great fun, an abundant and enthusiastic plant, you can keep it well behaved by growing any vining shoots around in a circle.

These beautiful yellow scallop edged fruits could be coming into your kitchen from mid-July. The plants are vigorous and the fruits are tasty and plentiful.  We think they are best when picked at about 7cm in diameter although they can grow to twice that size.  They are a perfect colour and flavour combination with Moonbeam and Total Eclipse.

Produces a large number a small fruits (up to 200g) with pale cream striped skin and creamy white flesh. They are ideal for stuffing and baking whole, allow 1 per person. Good flavour and will keep well.
