Swede deserves a place in the garden - it is a delight to eat. With the rekindled interest in seasonal food this is an ideal choice for winter variety. Sow from May to mid-June and harvest in the autumn onwards.

British bred, deep purple skin with creamy white flesh that is perfect for winter mash, dicing and adding to a hotpot or adding to soup.  Its shape is an elongated globe, sometimes called tankard, and it is ready to pull between September and Christmas.  Why not add variety to your mash with herbs such as thyme or mix in a little cheese.
