Onion and Shallot

Onion and Shallot

Onion and Shallot
We grew 11 varieties during 2008, you could say we know (and love) our onions! They are very easy to grow from seed and this allows you to enjoy a number of advantages: it is cheaper than sets, you have a wider choice of varieties, onions from seed are less prone to bolting and you have more flexibility with sowing times. You can start onion seeds off from February under cover through to April. Some of these varieties can be harvested young for Spring Onion use, please remember to look at our Spring Onion section for more varieties for salad and stir-fry use
