BEETROOT GOLDEN BOLDOR F1 ~ sweet and delicious beets with lovely coppery-red skin and bright internal flesh 50 seeds
SOW: in the open at about 2cm deep, from mid-March to July. Make several sowings for a continuous supply. In mild areas you can widen the season but August sowings may need protection later.
GROW: Beet seeds are actually a cluster and will require thinning, alternatively pull some for use when young & leave the rest to grow on. Keep weed free and try not to let the soil dry out. This variety can be pulled young to enjoy as mini beets.
EAT: great in salads, as a hot veg or a pickle: they don’t bleed when cooked & they retain their colour. You can also cook young leaves and stems like spinach or eat raw in salads. To Freeze– cook until tender, rinse, drain & dry, peel & slice or dice.
