Spring Onion Slender Star

£0.75 / pack(s)

Slender Stargrow like the professionals with this top commercial variety.  Do you want reliability, great flavour, slender onions with very little bulbing, sow & grow in clusters with harvest in about 12 weeks?  Slender Star will give you all of this.

Price for 100 seeds

SOW & GROW: from February to June EITHER in the open, seed depth 10-15mm deep in rows aiming at 2-4cm apart OR clump sow 4-5 seeds per module/pot on the surface & lightly cover with a sprinkle of vermiculite or compost.

Clump sowing in a greenhouse or on a windowsill is particularly good for early spring onions sown in February & March with planting out in April at 7cm apart.  Sowing a few clumps every 2-3 weeks will give you crops throughout the season.  It is a perfect technique for those who just want a few spring onions at a time.  Clump sowing is also a great approach in a small garden where you can fit them in where you have space or between slower growing veggies.
