SOW: in modules in early to late summer for harvesting from late summer to winter. For a winter-spring crop sow in succession from late summer & transplant to grow under cloches, a cold frame or unheated greenhouse.
GROW: transplant at the 2/3 leaf stage and space at 10cm for small plants, or up to 30cm apart if you want to grow larger plants. From sowing Murasaki to tasty, tender and juicy full heads takes 7-8 weeks, less in warmer weather.
EAT: colour (& flavour) are lovely in salads. In cooler weather you will find that they can be added to stir-fry or steamed lightly.
