Melon Temptation is a honeydew/cantaloupe cross giving you the best of both. Deep orange flesh hidden beneath a paler skin plus an intense aroma: sweet and juicy and delightful, temptation indeed!
Price for 4 seeds
SOW: in April & May one seed per pot (seed depth 10mm), water, cover with polythene and keep at about 18-20°C until germinated. Uncover and grow on in a warm spot, potting on at the 2 leaf stage
GROW: plant in the greenhouse border or 2 plants per grow bag when they have 4 proper leaves – they like the soil to be rich and moist - & pinch out the growing tip. They prefer the protection and warmth of the sun through greenhouse glass but will grow in a sunny sheltered spot outside. Train the side shoots until they reach 6 leaves and pinch out again. Hand pollinate to help them (from male to female flowers, the ones with a bump under them).
EAT: pick when ripe (skin change, aroma & a slight give at the blossom end) & enjoy.
