As suggested by the name this is a fantastic winter variety with large dark green leaves but don’t be put off by the giant bit. Sow any time between July and December for harvesting between October and March. Price for 50 seeds

Did beautifully sown a little later in the season. from Anonymous on 15/09/2015
I was so eager to sow this giant winter spinach, that I planted a few in mid July (the packet said from July to December). Unfortunately most of these didn't germinate and those that did bolted before they could form any significant leaves. However..... I sowed some more in the third week of August and it's done beautifully. Just waiting a little longer has worked wonders and I can already see some very healthy looking leaves coming up, 100% germination of the 6 seeds I put in alongside one plank on the allotment. I plan to sow sucessively through the autumn as I think this spinach is going to be terrific and will provide us with some greens in the coldest days. I wonder how 'giant' it will become.....!?
