This heirloom, Queen Charlotte, is a cultivated form of sweet violet. The upturned fragrant, dark blue flowers are on long stems: perfect for a small arrangement. These can naturalise at the edge of a bed or veggie patch, the leaves are evergreen. For added enjoyment add the petals to salads or crystallise them. Early flowers from March. Perennial.
