CUCUMBER MUNCHER ~ mouth-watering, mild, burpless type for munching straight from the vine 4 seeds SOW: inside in April/early May in individual pots, keep moist (not soggy) and warm. GROW: to plant outside, harden off once they have 2/3 leaves; they prefer a sunny and sheltered site and you may need to protect them from wind while they settle in. Mulch if possible, they respond to a mid season liquid feed too! This variety is vigorous and prolific and happiest when able to scramble on a trellis or canes. You can grow this variety in a greenhouse if you prefer; it may have a greater spread. EAT: pick from 10cm long for a quick munch or be patient and wait for them to grow to 25cm (I should report that once ‘discovered’ ours were all eaten at the munch size!)
