Zinnia Envy stands out from the crowd with its striking lime-green blooms—dahlia-like in shape and full of fresh, zesty colour. A real favourite with bees and flower arrangers alike, it brings a cool contrast to richer shades in the garden. Try pairing with deep purples, reds or dark foliage for a standout display. An RHS AGM winner, and it’s easy to see why.

SOW
Sow in trays or pots from March to April. Cover seeds lightly with compost, perlite or vermiculite, and keep at around 18°C. Germination usually takes 1–2 weeks. Once seedlings are big enough to handle, pot them on—take care to minimise root disturbance. Or, from May/June, sow thinly direct into a sunny bed after the last frost.
GROW
Harden off indoor-raised plants before planting out at about 30cm apart in rich soil and full sun. Thin out direct-sown seedlings as they grow. Zinnias love warmth and good soil—and will reward you with bold blooms right through summer.
ENJOY
Punctuate your planting with these bold, lime-green statements for a fresh twist among richer tones. Sow in small batches a couple of weeks apart to keep flowers coming from early summer right through to the first frosts. Great for cutting, and a real talking point in any bouquet or border.
