Xeranthemum Lumina Double Mixed is a graceful and easy-going flower with delicate, papery double blooms in soft shades, held on slender silvery stems. A great choice for cutting gardens, and a reliable draw for bees and other pollinators. Light and airy in the border – and they last well once picked.

🌸 Flowering: June to October

📏 Height: to 70cm

🌿Annual

SOW & GROW
Sow in spring in trays, just cover seeds lightly (about 5mm deep). They usually pop up in 7–14 days. Once big enough, prick them out into individual pots to grow on. Harden off before planting out about 25–30cm apart.

Or, thinly sow direct outside from mid-May to June in rows. Seedlings appear in 3–4 weeks. Thin these carefully and replant to keep about 25–30cm spacing. Water regularly… bone dry soil will finish these plants! Deadheading helps keep the flowers coming.

ENJOY
Brilliant for cut flowers, fresh or dried. Pick early in the day when the buds are just starting to open for best results. Loved by pollinators, so try planting near veg plots or wildlife-friendly borders.

EVERLASTING?
Yes – and
very easy to dry. Cut a bunch, tie the stems, and hang them upside-down in a shady, airy place for 4–6 weeks. This preserves their colour beautifully. Left on the plant, they’ll fade to light brown. Once dried, they can last for several years—hence the name everlasting flowers. You might also hear them called strawflowers or paper daisies.
