Winter Purslane

Tasty Winter Purslane is a hardy green veg: sometimes called Miners Lettuce from the 1849 gold rush when it was a dietary staple. Sow between July and September, it likes a damp shady position, harvest the leaves throughout the winter for eating raw in a winter salad or steamed and served like spinach.
