Crimson Sweet is one of the finest watermelons available: it is very sweet with crimson flesh (hence the name) and is almost seedless. Sow in spring, you need 14-16 weeks growing time and plenty of water.

SOW: in spring, seed depth 10-15mm, one seed per pot, water, cover with polythene and keep at about 18°C until germinated. Uncover and grow on in a warm spot.
GROW: plant in the greenhouse border or in a grow bag when they have four proper leaves – they like the soil to be rich and moist. They need protection and perform far better when they can enjoy the warmth of the sun through greenhouse glass or conservatory windows. Crimson Sweet needs 14-16 weeks growing time – and plenty of water.
