Tondo Chiaro Di Nizza is a heritage variety producing delightful round shaped courgettes. It is both compact and productive. The pale green fruit can be cut at golf ball size for use whole. The flavour is delicious.
SOW: seed depth 25mm, start them from late April on into June, inside, 1 seed per small pot. Keep moist but not waterlogged.
GROW: keep moist, but not waterlogged, harden off and plant out after all danger of frost has passed. In cooler areas you can protect young plants with cloches until they have settled in. Keep an eye on them and keep picking!
ENJOY: Tondo Chiaro di Nizza can be eaten from golf ball size - try baking them whole with a knob of butter - if they reach grapefruit size then try them stuffed. To Freeze – slice or dice, pack in portions and freeze. You can also blend to rough or fine texture and freeze for use in sauces, casseroles, curries and so on
