Super Squashes

Now is the perfect time to sow your squashes!  Start them undercover, one seed per pot, and you’ll be able to plant them out once the risk of frost has passed. They will thrive in the warm soil and love basking in the sunshine!
Did you know that squashes can be used as an alternative to potatoes? If your taste runs to the sweeter side, try caramelising slices with a little honey…absolutely delicious! 
These three choices are well behaved, compact, reliable and packed with flavour!

Celebration F1 – who could not smile at these! Fabulous multi-coloured acorn fruits in shades of yellow and orange. The plants are bushy, vigorous and very productive, with flavour to match their looks. (3 seeds) 

Cornels Bush Delicata – lush, tasty squash that almost looks too good to eat, with creamy skin and green stripes. Compact enough for a large container too!. This is Ian’s favourite and sure to become one of yours. Try it baked, steamed, roasted, grilled or popped in the microwave for a quick snack. (3 seeds)

Hunter F1 – the perfect butternut for British conditions! Early to mature, with rich orange flesh and a naturally sweet flavour beneath its understated tan skin. Harvest from August and enjoy it baked, roasted, in soups, stir fries, or even sweet dishes. (3 seeds)
