Piramide may look a little like a bull’s horn pepper but it is a richly flavoured Italian heirloom tomato. The firm texture and meaty flesh makes it ideal for slicing or for roasting, with a lovely balance of acidity and sweetness. With few seeds, it is a favourite for making puree and sauces. The fruits appear in clusters, each one can be 5 to 7cm long, sometimes a little longer than that. Indeterminate
SOW: about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected sow in modules, seed depth 5mm, cover and place on a windowsill. Transplant to pots when large enough to handle and grow on until ready to harden off and plant out once frost danger has passed.
GROW: plant in the greenhouse or in a sunny sheltered part of your garden. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp & avoid overfeeding. Piramide is indeterminate, o it will grow tall and will need supporting. With large fruits and ongoing growth, it will bloom, set new fruit and ripen throughout the season
ENJOY: these are both delicious and decorative, a real talking point in your garden and on your plate, whether you chose them for a salad or use them in cooking.
