With Fireworks you start your harvest with a bang, this being one of the earliest larger toms at 55-68 days from transplanting. The fruits can be 170g, some smaller, some bigger, with a balanced sweet flavour and dense flesh (ideal for slicing). Prolific, you may need to support some of the clusters. Indeterminate.
SOW & GROW: about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected sowing in modules (cover or put on a windowsill). We transplant to pots when large enough to handle and grow on until ready to harden off and plant after frost danger has passed. Grow in a sunny sheltered part of your garden or in a pot or grow this in a greenhouse. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp: don’t overfeed. Fireworks, being indeterminate, will grow and produce fruit until killed by frost. You may need to support some of the fruit clusters if the grow on the large side!
EAT & ENJOY: perfect for slicing fresh, for grilling or roasting and making preserves.
We welcome your comments so do please email… we wonder if you will agree with us about Fireworks – we think that the earliest fruits are lighter on flavour which develops as the season progresses. The fruit size is variable (as expected with an open pollinated variety) and the quantity produced is good. What will you think?
