Sweet, tangy and aromatic tomato Figiel could have vibrant orange fruits glowing on your patio or balcony. It is an indeterminate tomato with a rather useful difference. unlike most indeterminates that surge towards the sky, Figiel stays relatively short and bushy when grown in pots, whilst producing clusters of small cherry-sized fruits throughout the season. It's a cracking combination for smaller growing spaces, with plenty of little tomatoes to snack on while relaxing on the patio or adding to your salads.
Sow: we start ours about 6-8 weeks before the last frost is expected, sowing 5mm deep in modules then cover or put on a windowsill. We transplant to small pots when large enough to handle and grow on until ready to harden off and plant after frost danger has passed.
Grow: perfect for pots and containers and for those with limited growing space. Compact Figiel usually doesn’t exceed 125cm tall. For the best flavour keep the compost evenly damp and don’t overfeed. As an indeterminate, Figiel will spend all the season growing, blooming, setting and ripening fruit. Let it stay bushy and there’s no need to pinch out the side shoots unless you prefer to do so.
Enjoy: pick these little orange gems straight from the plant for snacking or tumble them into salads where that bright colour really shows. Sweet, tangy and aromatic, there's plenty of flavour packed into each little fruit.
