Tagetes Lemon Gem is a compact, hardworking plant that produces a profusion of small, lemon-yellow blooms—so many they often smother the fine, feathery foliage beneath. Flowering can begin as early as late May and continue for months, making it a reliable and long-lasting performer. A magnet for pollinators and a cheerful edging or container choice.
🌸 Flowering: June to October
📏 Height: to 25cm

SOW
From February to April, sow on the surface of seed compost in trays and cover lightly with perlite, vermiculite or a fine layer of compost. Pop the tray in a plastic bag or propagator and keep at around 18–20°C. Germination usually takes 1–2 weeks. Pot on into modules or small pots once large enough to handle.
GROW
When seedlings reach about 10cm tall, harden off and plant out at 15–20cm apart. They like a sunny spot and will flower for ages with regular deadheading — great for edging veg beds or tucking into containers.
ENJOY
The bright petals are edible and have a mild citrus tang—ideal for sprinkling on salads or summer desserts. Loved by bees and hoverflies, this variety does just as much for your garden’s health as it does for your plate.
