Renegade F1 is a terrific spinach. Most importantly, it has a lovely, sweet taste, it's quick to start harvesting and produces loads of lovely leaves. With sowing possible between March and October, you have plenty of opportunity to enjoy this AGM-winning variety. It is slow to bolt, has good resistance to downy mildew and, in milder areas, can overwinter to produce new leaves the following spring.

This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source

Sow: from March to October. Sow 10–25mm deep in pots or modules for transplanting, or sow in situ.

Grow: plant out at about 15cm spacing. The dark green, rounded leaves are quick to develop and you can start picking from around 4–5 weeks after sowing. In milder areas plants can overwinter, or grow them with protection for fresh leaves into the following spring.

Eat & Enjoy: use small leaves raw in salads or lightly cook or steam larger leaves, slicing them after cooking. Renegade's sweet leaves are also great scattered onto pizza or whizzed into a spinach pesto with olive oil, parsley, Parmesan and a little garlic.

For something warmer, add plenty of spinach to a lentil dal, or turn those lovely leaves into spinach pakoras. Yum!
