Athena has all the punchy flavour of a wild rocket plus it is highly resistant to bolting, can be sown from spring to autumn, good level of mildew resistance and can be treated as a cut-&-come-again. With a 4 week growth for baby leaves you can also sow in spaces between other veggies for a catch crop to enjoy the succulent, serrated leaves.
SOW: from spring to the autumn, in modules (you can then space plants out) or sow thinly in situ. As Athena is mildew resistant it can be sown at other times with protection although growth is better in its natural seasons, and it is one of the best for growing during autumn. We recommend sowing every 2-3 weeks for a continuous supply of the best leaves
GROW: keep watered, plants are ready as soon as large enough to take a few leaves at a time. Athena has a 4-week growth for baby leaves thus very suitable for growing as a catch crop between other veggies that take much longer to fill their spaces.
ENJOY: lovely with a lemony dressing, stir into pasta, add to risotto…
