Versatile onion Kosma can be sown in the autumn (very hardy) or in the spring, the globe shaped white bulbs are medium sized with a touch of sweetness to them. They don’t make me cry when slicing yet are packed full of flavour.
Price for 60 seeds.
SOW: in spring, sparingly 1cm deep in rows about 30cm apart; in situ but warm the soil first under cloches as cold soil upsets germination, thin when large enough to handle. We have successfully started ours in modules and transplanted. For autumn: space seed 3-5cm apart in September (August for cooler areas), thin in spring allowing for winter losses to spacing below or leave if pulling young for salad onions
GROW: space at 7-10cm apart for medium bulbs or wider for larger bulbs. Keep well-watered as the bulb swells. Harvest when they reach the size you want!
EAT & ENJOY: these don’t make me cry when slicing yet are packed full of flavour for all your onion needs!
