Irresistible Karmen has attractive deep red skin with a red layer between each white scale. This is a delicious variety, mild and sweet making it a very good choice for salads (they cook up really well too). The fat flattened globe shaped bulbs can store for months.
SOW: in spring, sparingly 1cm deep in rows about 30cm apart; in situ but warm the soil first under cloches as cold soil upsets germination, thin when large enough to handle. To avoid thinning start in seed trays, potting on at the crookneck stage and then planting out.
GROW: space at, or thin out, 10-15cm apart for medium bulbs or wider for larger bulbs. Keep well-watered as the bulb swells. Harvest from September. The fat flattened globe shaped bulbs can store for months.
ENJOY: delicious variety, mild and sweet making it a very good choice for salads (they cook up really well too)
