Bajosta is a strong growing and well flavoured onion with a beautiful pale bronze skin. Look forward to a good yield of firm, globe shaped bulbs that are also a good choice for storing and using as needed over the winter.
This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source
SOW: from February to April, sparingly 1cm deep in rows about 30cm apart; in situ but warm the soil first under cloches as cold soil upsets germination, thin when large enough to handle. We have successfully started ours in modules and transplanted. Later sowings produce smaller onions.
GROW: space at 7-10cm apart for medium bulbs or wider for larger bulbs. Keep well-watered as the bulb swells. From August, as the leaves start to yellow you can bend over the tops & then pull 10-14 days later.
EAT & ENJOY: gorgeous, look forward to a good yield of firm, globe shaped bulbs that are also a good choice for storing and using as needed over the winter
