Red Streaks adds a little flare of peppery tang and a flare of colour to your salads and stir fires, and your soups or stews. Milder than rocket the young fringed red/purple & green striped leaves develop a stronger flavour when mature and a stronger colour when cooler weather sets in. This Mizuna will continue to grow and provide its mild spicy kick for most of the year.
This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source
SOW: in modules from February to October, seed depth 5-10mm, the early and late sowing with protection from prolonged rain or snow. Transplant at the 2/3 leaf stage. Sow for baby leaf on a windowsill at any time of the year.
GROW: always keep plants moist. Space at 5cm for baby greens ready from 3 weeks to continuously harvest OR 10-15cm for small plants & individual leaves OR up to 30cm apart for large plants to cut 7-10cm above ground and they will resprout 4 or 5 times.
EAT & ENJOY: adds a little flare of peppery tang and a flare of colour to your salads and stir fires. Colour is more intense in cooler weather.
