Melon Hearts of Gold

An almost round cantaloupe variety Hearts of Gold has aromatic sweet orange flesh. This is one that can be tried outdoors in milder areas. This vigorous melon produces 1-2kg fruit.

SOW: in spring, one seed per pot, water, cover with polythene and keep at about 18°C until germinated.  Uncover and grow on in a warm spot. 

GROW:  plant in the greenhouse border or in a grow bag when they have four proper leaves – they like the soil to be rich and moist.  Hearts Of Gold will grow outside in mild areas in a sheltered and sunny spot, elsewhere give them the benefit of the warmth of the sun through greenhouse glass.  This is a vigorous melon and can produce 1-2kg fruit.
