Marrow Bush Baby F1

Little marrows for small spaces do not come much better than Bush Baby: lovely dark green fruits have a pale green stripe; they grow to about 15-20cm long and are both tender and flavourful. The plants are so compact you can even grow them in a container.

SOW & GROW: inside in April/ May in individual pots, seed depth 15-25mm.  Keep moist and warm, ready to plant out when at 2/3 leaf stage.  Harden off well before planting out.  Keep plants weeded and well-watered & mulch if possible.  Feed with an organic feed if they are not producing much fruit.  Bush Baby plants are so compact you can even grow them in a container.

ENJOY: the lovely dark green fruits, with their pale green stripe, are tasty fresh and are also easy to freeze: simply peel, cut into rings or dice, blanch, drain, dry & freeze.  Cooked diced from frozen.  The rings can be stuffed while frozen then baked in the usual way adding an extra 5-10 minutes cooking time or thaw the rings first.
