Beautiful Red Grenoble boasts varying shades of red, bronze, light and dark green. The flavour is excellent: this heirloom batavian ought to be a top choice for your garden. Hailing from France, Rouge de Grenoble, has everything you could desire. It is cold tolerant but seems to still do well in the summer (it is a good choice for cooler growing areas). It can also be treated as a cut-&-come-again.
Price for 75 seeds.
SOW & GROW: a little seed, 5-10mm deep, every 2-3 weeks from February to October to give you a succession of lettuces. Red Grenoble is cold tolerant but seems to still do well in the summer (making a good choice for cooler areas). Direct sow in spring and early summer for cut-&-come-again. For heads you can start them in modules and transplant so that there is no need to thin: space 25-35cm apart. Late sowings may need protection from inclement weather.
EAT & ENJOY: savour the flavour on its own or add a range of other leaves such as Mizuna, Spinach and herbs
