Field Mustard is a fast and feisty green manure that gets to work quickly, suppressing weeds, adding organic matter, and giving your soil a natural lift. It’s part of the brassica family and does best in well-drained soils.
Make the most of Field Mustard
Sow from March to September. It grows fast—ready to cut and dig in after just 1 to 2 months. Chop it down before it flowers to get the most benefit, and dig it in or let it break down under cover. Avoid using it in rotation before or after other brassicas (like cabbage or broccoli).
You'll have enough seed to cover approximately 4 square metres.
