Romanesca da Taglio can be grown as a cut-&-come-again salad choice. This variety, from the Rome area, has thin, serrated, dark green leaves with classic endive taste and texture. These grow in upright bunches making it easy-peasy to harvest. Perfect for salads or grow on for cooking.
SOW: seed depth 10mm, best for spring and autumn sowings but will work at any time throughout the growing season (March to October) avoiding hot dry weather as this can make germination erratic.
GROW: for cut-&-come-again aim for 5cm between plants and cut when 7-10cm tall. For larger individual plants widen the spacing to 10-15cm apart. Larger Romanesca da Taglio plants grow in upright bunches making it easy to harvest.
ENJOY: perfect for salads or grow on for cooking. Balance the texture & flavour of the endive with a dressing such as blue cheese & garlic
