Wow oh wow, Carmen's abundant fruit are straight, slightly ribby, can grow up to 40cm long, mild and bitter free: lovely long slicing cucs – AGM winner. This outstanding all-female variety is the top choice for most vegetable exhibitors. Carmen also features superb resistance to powdery mildew, scab and leaf spot. Happy plants are capable of producing 50+ cucumbers each!
SOW: inside, February to end May, in individual pots, seed depth 1-2cm. Keep moist & warm at 21°C. Once they have 3 true leaves pot on to 15cm pots, when about 10cm tall they can be planted into large pots or growbags.
GROW: Carmen, an all-female variety does better with the protection and extra warmth from a greenhouse or conservatory. Your plants will produce if grown outside but expect less vigorous growth and fewer fruits. Male flowers (those with no fruit behind) can appear under stress conditions - these should be removed immediately.
ENJOY: abundant fruit are straight (if hanging while growing), slightly ribby, & up to 40cm long! Lots to love
