SOW

• Early Spring: Start in plug trays, sow seeds at a depth of 5mm, for transplanting (when into pots or the garden once the soil warms up.
• Late Spring: Direct sow, when sowing outdoors, plant seeds thinly in finely prepared, warm, well-drained soil.

GROW

• Spring: Clear around the clumps and consider feeding them to encourage healthy growth.
• Summer: Remove flower stems to encourage more leaf production.
• Autumn: Pot up a clump for the windowsill to enjoy fresh chives through the winter.
• Every 3 years: Dig up the clumps, divide them into smaller sections, and replant with some added compost to give them a boost.
