Celery Leaf: this variety of celery, Apium graveolens secalinum, is grown primarily for its flavourful leaves rather than its stems. It offers a strong, aromatic celery taste, making it an excellent addition to soups, stews, and other dishes where you want that signature celery flavour. Perfect for culinary use!

🌱 Seasonal Growing Guide

SOW

  • Spring for summer use, or
  • August/September for winter use.

Start seeds in seed trays or modules, covering them lightly (max 5mm). Once seedlings are large enough, harden them off and transplant outdoors.

GROW

  • For cut-and-come-again harvesting, plant celery leaves close together.
  • For larger individual plants, space them 25cm apart.
  • For autumn and winter use, grow with cloche protection or in a greenhouse. Alternatively, keep a few in pots on the windowsill, trimming regularly for fresh leaves.

ENJOY: add the fresh, young cut-&-come-again leaves to salads and sandwiches for that crisp, celery-like flavour. Use the more mature leaves to flavour soups and stews, just like you would use celery stems in your cooking. Perfect for adding depth and freshness!
