With its excellent flavour and almost stringless, crunchy texture, Greensleeves F1 is a standout variety for fresh eating. The bright green stems rarely bolt and are cold-resistant, so you can harvest through to November.
SOW: from March to May in a propagator, greenhouse, or sunny windowsill. Seeds like a steady 15–20°C and need light to germinate – sow on the surface without covering.
GROW: prick out into small pots (hold by a leaf, not the stem) and grow on. Plant out at the 5–6 leaf stage once frost risk has passed. Space plants 20–25cm apart. As with all celery, keep watered and feed regularly – they’re shallow rooted and will thrive with consistent care.
EAT & ENJOY: a great choice for summer salads, and as autumn arrives, it’s perfect for soups and stews right through to the colder months.
