Snowball is a compact, flavour-packed choice that’s perfect for smaller gardens. Dwarf plants can be spaced closely, making it easy to grow even if space is tight. This is a true all-season cauliflower – sow in spring or autumn and enjoy two cropping windows in one year.
This variety is part of our naturally nurtured range, the seed comes from an organic source
SOW: anytime between February and April for a late June to September harvest OR sow October with protection to harvest the following May/June. We start all our cauliflower seeds 15mm deep in pots or modules under cover to give them a good root system & then transplant.
GROW: transplant about 6 weeks after sowing to final position in firm ground, Snowball performs well close spaced at 25-30cm. Regular watering is essential; cauliflowers do not like to get dry. Cut the curds when they are tight and firm – don’t leave them on the plant too long.
EAT & ENJOY: raw or cooked.
Top Tip: slicing cauliflower often leaves a sea of tiny bits scattered all over your chopping board. To avoid this, start by cutting off individual florets. If you want them smaller, slice each one from the base towards the florets—without cutting all the way through—then gently pull them apart by hand. They’ll break cleanly into neat pieces with hardly any mess.
