With its deep violet head and strong garden presence, Sicily Purple is a remarkable variety that truly stands out. It offers more than just looks – the flavour is rich and sweet, and it’s harvest-ready from October through to December, adding colour and character to your cool-season patch.
SOW: May to July to harvest from October through to December (so approximately 5 months to reach harvest for timing you preferred sowing time or choose to sow in succession to spread your harvest out). We start all our cauliflower seeds 15mm deep in pots or modules under cover to give them a good root system & then transplant.
GROW: transplant about 6 weeks after sowing to final position in firm ground, space about 60cm apart. Regular watering is essential; cauliflowers do not like to get dry. Cut curds when they are tight and firm – don’t leave them on the plant too long.
EAT& ENJOY: raw or cooked this variety is delicious. To Freeze – separate into even sized florets, blanch for 3 minutes, plunge into cold water, drain and pack into portions.
