Paris Market Atlas is a charming and unusual early variety with almost round roots and great flavour. These little carrots are ideal for shallow soils and do especially well when space is tight. With successional sowing, you can harvest from May right through to October.
SOW: no more than 10mm deep from February to July; under cloches or in cold frames in the spring but warm the soil with the cloches before sowing or wait for warmer weather. Dig the soil thoroughly first & sow sparingly to avoid the need for too much thinning. Sowing in early spring before mid-March or late June/July can avoid the worst of the carrot fly.
GROW: keep moist and weed free – they don’t like the competition
ENJOY: delicious cooked whole in stews, casseroles, or roasted in autumn. They also add a fun touch to salads. For longer storage, freeze whole or halved after blanching.
