Luna White is creamy white right through to the core, with a mild, sweet flavour that sets it apart. Pull early for crisp, tender roots perfect in salads, or let them size up for cooking. Ready to harvest from around 9 weeks after sowing.
SOW: at no more than 10mm deep from March to August, but early spring before mid-March or from July can avoid the worst of the carrot fly. For early sowings warm the soil with the cloches before sowing or wait for warmer weather. Dig the soil thoroughly & sow sparingly to avoid the need for too much thinning.
GROW: keep growing carrots moist and weed free – they don’t like competition. You can start pulling after 9 weeks, making spaces to allow some of the others to grow a little larger.
ENJOY: enjoy young and use in salads, utilise the colour to add another dimension to your plate, or allow them to grow a little larger and enjoy them cooked.
