Calabrese Typhoon F1 is a late-season variety with large, domed dark green heads that stay tightly budded for ages. Sow from May to July, and enjoy harvests from September through to November.
SOW: from May to July, 10–15mm deep. We like to start them in pots and transplant when they reach the 2–3 leaf stage.
GROW: Do not let them dry out—calabrese hates being thirsty. Cut the bluish-green head before the flowers open; after that, you’ll get a steady supply of tasty side shoots. Regular picking encourages more to form.
ENJOY: lovely when lightly steamed and fresh from your garden. To Freeze: blanch for 2 minutes, plunge into cold water, drain and pack.
