Di Verona is a gorgeous heirloom hailing from northern Italy, a tasty and colourful variety. Look out for the lightly savoyed violet and green leaves that go darker and more vibrant when the weather grows colder. An early sowing can be harvested from July or perhaps at its best mature in autumn and winter.
SOW: from March to June, starting in pots or modules. Seed depth 10mm
GROW: when large enough to handle harden off and transplant, spacing at 30-40cm apart. Firm your young cabbages into position with the lower leaves just above the soil and water well until established. Cut the cabbages as you need them: earliest sowings can be ready from July. Later sowings can take your crop into early winter.
ENJOY: this heirloom has it all - fabulous looks and loads of flavour. Look forward to harvesting some at least in colder weather for the strongest colours!
