Brendan F1 is a cracking winter sprout—ready just in time for Christmas and the coldest months. From mid-December, you’ll get sturdy stalks full of tight, bright green buttons that stay in good shape on the plant. Pick through to February, and sometimes into March. A reliable, tasty crop when fresh greens can be in short supply.
SOW your sprout seeds 10-15mm deep, start them in modules or pots from March to early May. When they are about 15cm tall harden off and plant out, early transplants may need cloches or fleece.
GROW: plant into firm soil and space at 75-90cm, closer spacing will create smaller sprouts.
