Basil Holy

Basil Holy is an ancient variety originating in India. It grows into a small pretty plant with pinky-mauve stems, purple tinged leaves and deep purple stems. As the weather warms up so the purple goes a deeper shade. Aromatic and sweet, it is super in all types of cooking.

SPRING

• Sow seeds in pots or plug trays. If sowing in early spring use bottom heat. 
• Once seedlings are large enough to handle, pot them up and continue to grow on.
• Water early in the day to reduce the risk of damping off.

SUMMER

• Pinch out flower buds to keep the plant leafy and prolong harvest.
• Pick leaves regularly for best flavour.

AUTUMN

• With some care, you can extend your harvest into winter.
• Plants may need feeding or repotting to keep them vigorous.
• Dig up old plants from the garden and prepare for next year.
